Laviness Ochieng

Laviness Ochieng is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Mount Kenya University and Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law. She is a Senior Associate at the firm of Owaga & Associates Advocates LLP.

Laviness joined the Firm in 2016 as an Intern and then left to continue with her studies. She later returned in 2020 as Trainee Advocate where she has since received extensive legal training in diverse areas related to Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Debt Recovery, Restructuring and Insolvency, Employment and Labor relations cases, Family Law, alternative dispute resolution and Commercial and Conveyancing. Upon her admission to the Bar, she was retained by the firm as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.

Laviness showed exemplary grasp and mastery of Commercial Law in the last few years. She is the current Head of the Commercial Unit practising and specializing in all areas of Company Law including Company Registrations, Restructuring and liaising with the Kenya Industrial Property Institute to ensure smooth and timely registration of all Intellectual Property Rights such as Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights for both local and international Clients.

She is a resolute Advocate, a team player and an excellent communicator.
